Any Given Sunday in Charleston

On any given day- in Charleston,SC
This is Saturday and Sunday- May 3 and 4.
This is very typical of a week-end bicycle excursion in Charleston.
Hanahan, to N. Charleston, to Wonder's Way, Mt. Pleasant, Sullivan's Island, and the Isle of Palms

Saturday

Starting in Hanahan I weave my way around to Park Circle without a lot of traffic.

I'm used to my espresso being small and being downed in just minutes maybe.

This is the "bucket-o-espresso".

Sunday

Cathy, ___, and Ann

I was coming up this side from Mt. Pleasant that I saw a lady struggling with her bicycle.
I got over into the walkers lane as it was vacant and I didn't wont' her to be startled.
I slowed and saw that chain was on the smallest cog in the rear.
She was in the highest gear she had that was meant for downhill, not uphill.
I suggested that she need to ride in a lower gear and her seat was too low.
She replied that she "does better like this".
This she said right before coming to a stop on the wall to her right.
Let's see. Her seat was so low that her legs were not extending. She had no leverage.
She was in her highest sprocket instead of her lowest.
Low gears for uphill-high gears for downhill.
She was struggling so hard and going so slowly that she just came to an abrupt halt against the wall.
But she "does better like this".
